Ground, access and species are different from one town to the next — and so are the rules. That is why each of these pages says something different.

Soil decides how trees fail

Saturated dike-district flats in Longview, cut-and-fill benches on the Kelso hillsides, lahar and volcanic ash around Toutle and Castle Rock, clay through much of Clark County. Each one produces a different kind of failure.

Access decides what it costs

A chipper twenty feet from the tree is a different job than one hand-carried a hundred feet up a single-lane driveway. We want to see it before we quote it.

The rules are not the same everywhere

Vancouver and Camas have their own tree codes. Unincorporated county land mostly does not. Shoreline overlays, HOAs and right-of-way trees change the answer again.
