The information on this site is general

We write about tree health, hazard assessment, permits, insurance and costs because property owners ask about them. That content is general information about how these things usually work in Southwest Washington. It is not a professional assessment of your specific tree, and it is not legal, insurance or engineering advice.

No article on this site can tell you whether a particular tree is safe. Only an on-site inspection can begin to answer that, and even then, trees can fail in ways nobody predicts. If you are worried about a tree, have someone look at it.

Estimates

On-site estimates are free and carry no obligation. An estimate covers the scope of work described in it. Conditions we could not see from the ground — internal decay, buried utilities, structures hidden by vegetation, ground that will not support equipment — can change the scope. If that happens we stop, tell you, and agree on the change before continuing rather than adding it to the invoice afterward.

Estimates are valid for a reasonable period and may be revised if the condition of the tree changes materially, for example after a storm.

Scheduling and weather

Tree work is weather-dependent and safety-driven. High wind, ice and lightning make climbing and rigging unsafe, and we will reschedule rather than work in those conditions. Storm periods create backlogs, and emergency jobs involving structures, blocked access or utility contact are prioritized over routine work. We will keep you informed rather than leave you guessing.

Property access and preparation

You confirm that you own the property or are authorized to have the work done, and that you have any consent required from co-owners, an HOA, or an adjoining property owner whose land or trees are affected. You agree to identify private underground utilities, septic components, irrigation and other buried infrastructure that a public utility locate will not mark. Please move vehicles and secure pets before the crew arrives.

Permits and regulations

Local tree rules vary by jurisdiction and change over time. Where a permit or approval applies, we will tell you what we understand to be required and can help with the paperwork. Final responsibility for compliance with local codes, covenants and easements rests with the property owner.

Insurance

We carry liability insurance and workers compensation coverage and will provide documentation on request before work begins. We encourage you to ask any contractor for the same.

The text, photographs, layout and graphics on this site are our property or used with permission, and may not be copied or republished without written consent. You may of course link to any page here.

Third-party links

We link to outside resources such as utility providers and government agencies for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their accuracy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any dispute relating to this website or to work performed will be handled in the courts serving Kelso, WA.
